The Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service awarded a $1 million project grant to High Country Community Health of Elkin, North Carolina under the Community Facilities Loans and Grants program (CFDA 10.766). The two-year grant running from January 2022 to January 2024 will support the construction and improvement of rural community health care facilities. Specifically, High Country Community Health will use the American Rescue Plan Act Economic Development grant funds to enhance essential health services for rural residents in the area by expanding and upgrading existing medical infrastructure. The Community Facilities Loans and Grants program aims to construct, enlarge, or improve essential community facilities in rural areas, consistent with the intended purpose of this award.
