THIS EXPANSION WILL PROVIDE AMPLE SPACE AND EQUIPMENT THAT WILL ALLOW EXPANSION OF SERVICES FOR DIAGNOSTIC, PREVENTATIVE, RESTORATIVE, AND PROSTHODONTIC SERVICES I.E., FILINGS, CLEANINGS, AND DENTURES FOR THE UNINSURED POPULATION IN TARGET SERVICES AREAS. APPROXIMATELY 70% OF OUR DENTAL PATIENTS WHOM WE NOW SERVE WITH DENTAL EXTRACTIONS, THEIR TEETH COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED HAD THEY HAD ACCESS TO CLEANINGS, ORAL HYGIENE EDUCATION, AND FILINGS. DUE TO LACK OF ACCESS TO DENTAL CARE, MANY TIMES POOR DENTAL HEALTH LEADS TO OTHER MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS SUCH AS HEART DISEASE, AND RESPIRATORY ISSUES. THIS PROJECT WILL ALLOW EARLY DENTAL HEALTH INTERVENTION SO THAT MORE ADULTS INCLUDING SENIORS AGED 50+ ACCESS TO COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL CARE. WE SERVE ADULT POPULATIONS AGED 18 AND ABOVE. APPROXIMATELY 16.3% OF ADULT POPULATION IN TARGET SERVICE AREA IS UNINSURED, IN ADDITION TO APPROXIMATELY 17.9% MEET THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES. THIS PROJECT IS ESTIMATED TO ACCOMMODATE AN ADDITIONAL 300-350 ADULT UNINSURED PATIENTS PER YEAR WITH COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL HEALTH CARE. ALL OF OUR PHYSICIANS, DENTISTS, AND OTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS WHO DONATE THEIR TIME AND SERVICES TO OUR MEDICAL AND DENTAL CLINIC.
