The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $1,200,498 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant (CFDA 14.267) to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) on March 11, 2025. The CoC Program is designed to promote community-wide efforts to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
This Project Grant award will allow LAHSA, as the lead agency for the Los Angeles Continuum of Care, to coordinate a range of eligible activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. LAHSA may directly provide these services or distribute funds to nonprofit providers and local governments to implement community-wide strategies to address homelessness in the greater Los Angeles area. The expected outcomes of this funding are to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by reducing length of time homeless, returns to homelessness, and increasing exits to permanent housing.
