This federal Project Grant award of $353,996 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) supports efforts by the nonprofit organization Sacramento Steps Forward to address homelessness in the Sacramento, CA region.
The funding will enable Sacramento Steps Forward to provide a range of housing assistance and supportive services to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, while promoting self-sufficiency and minimizing the trauma associated with homelessness. Eligible activities include permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. Sacramento Steps Forward, as the lead agency for Sacramento's Continuum of Care, will work collaboratively with local government, nonprofit partners, and service providers to leverage these federal resources and develop comprehensive strategies to end homelessness in the community. The grant award is effective March 11, 2025.
