The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) awarded a $167,600 Project Grant to Helen's Daughters (HD), a non-profit organization, to strengthen the resilience of women farmers in St. Lucia. This grant is part of the IAF's Assistance for Overseas Programs (CFDA 85.750) and the U.S.-Caribbean Resilience Partnership, as well as the IAF's Women Investing in Growth and Security (WINGS) initiative. The grant funding will enable HD to provide training to women farmers in sustainable agriculture techniques, help them increase access to credit, establish a collective farm to facilitate land access, and set up additional markets where they can sell their agricultural products. These efforts aim to expand economic opportunities for women farmers facing intensifying weather conditions, such as droughts and hurricanes, that make it challenging to meet their families' food and income needs.
