The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Community Health Centers program (CFDA 93.224), awarded a $1,178,000.00 Project Grant to Prymed Medical Care Inc., a hospital and non-profit organization in Ciales, Puerto Rico. This grant funding will support Prymed Medical Care's efforts to deliver comprehensive primary and emergency health care services to underserved communities in Puerto Rico, including medical, dental, behavioral health, and enabling services. The award provides resources to enhance Prymed Medical Care's facility infrastructure, expand service capacity, and sustain operations of its community health centers, which have previously received over $8 million in federal grant funding to address COVID-19 and hurricane response needs. As a sub-awardee, Prymed Medical Care has also received funding from Puerto Rico's Department of Justice and the Governor's office for coronavirus response and hurricane recovery efforts.
