The Weill Medical College of Cornell University received an $8,000,000 Project Grant from the Office of the Director at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under the NIH's Construction Support program (CFDA 93.352) to modernize and expand the Citigroup Biomedical Imaging Center (CBIC) located in New York City. The five key components of the project include: 1) Construction of a new PET/CT imaging suite, 2) Construction of a new high-field NMR spectroscopy suite, 3) Renovation of the radiopharmaceutical production facility, 4) Installation of infrastructure to enable general anesthesia capabilities, and 5) Upgrades to electrical systems supporting MRI and PET scanners. The project aims to enhance the research infrastructure and capabilities of the CBIC, which supports over 100 principal investigators across multiple institutions with over $118M in annual NIH grant funding. The grant award has a project period of Sep 2023 to Jul 2026.
