The Boise Art Museum will use a $133,955 Project Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services' National Leadership Grants program to rebuild its arts education programs and directly support recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, the Museum will hire 10 new instructors and one program assistant to deliver in-person, classroom, and mobile app-based arts education programming to 15,000 students from preschool through high school. Prior to the pandemic, the Museum's offerings represented Idaho's only visual arts education focused on original artworks and best practices. The revamped programs will allow maximum flexibility for teachers to engage students interactively with discussions and artmaking. The Museum will track progress via program attendance, educator feedback, and student/teacher evaluation results.
