The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded a $149,926 Project Grant under the Promotion of the Humanities Teaching and Learning Resources and Curriculum Development program (CFDA 45.162) to the Regents of the University of California at Riverside (UC Riverside). The grant will support UC Riverside's establishment of two new undergraduate majors and minors in Environmental Studies and Global and Community Health. These programs will provide students the opportunity to study social inequities, health, and sustainability through an interdisciplinary scholarly lens. Students will gain methodological tools to understand the dynamic interactions of social, economic, political, environmental, and health-related issues. The programs will prepare students for socially relevant careers and serve community needs in the Inland Southern California region and beyond. The grant is effective from August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2027.
