The College of the Holy Cross received a $140,230 Project Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to develop an Interdisciplinary Minor in Ethics, Society, and the Institution of Business. The grant is funded through the NEH's Promotion of the Humanities Teaching and Learning Resources and Curriculum Development program (CFDA 45.162), which supports the creation of new educational resources and curricula in the humanities. Over the 2-year grant period from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025, the college will create an interdisciplinary program that blends business education with humanities perspectives, with the goal of cultivating students' knowledge, skills, and vision to help businesses move beyond minimizing harm and towards restorative practices. The program will provide students a deeper understanding of business practices, values, and structures, while also instilling a sense of the history and potential of the business institution and the people working within it.
