The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded Pace University a $150,000 Project Grant under the Promotion of the Humanities Teaching and Learning Resources and Curriculum Development program (CFDA 45.162). The grant supports Pace University's "The Ground Beneath Our Feet" project, which centers place-based, experiential humanities in the university's undergraduate core curriculum and humanities degree programs. The project will engage students and the local community in investigating the previously obscured people, places, and events of Pace University's Lower Manhattan campus, which is located on unceded Lenape land. Pace University is collaborating with a Lower Manhattan Humanities Consortium to uplift stories of marginalized people through the co-creation of digital humanities and public humanities projects.
