The Kodiak Tribal Climate Adaptation Plan project received a $149,314 Project Grant award from the Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs Central Office. The funding supports development of a climate adaptation plan under the Tribal Climate Resilience program (CFDA 15.156).
The Kodiak Area Native Association will use the August 16, 2021 through August 15, 2023 award period to better understand climate change impacts and vulnerabilities in Kodiak, Alaska. Specifically, the Association will work with local tribal governments and trust land managers to analyze potential effects on communities, ecosystems, and infrastructure from climate trends. The project aims to develop strategies for increasing resilience to climate risks.
