THIS PROJECT WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO SAN DIEGO COUNTY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT IN ITS EFFORTS TO REDUCE DIESEL EMISSIONS AND EXPOSURE IN AND AROUND THE PORT OF SAN DIEGO. THE PROJECT WILL REPLACE ONE DIESEL POWERED TUGBOAT WITH AN ELECTRIC TUGBOAT, WHICH WILL REDUCE EMISSIONS OF DIESEL PARTICULATE MATTER (PM2.5) AND OTHER POLLUTANTS SUCH AS NITROGEN OXIDE (NOX).
