The Rosebud Sioux Tribe was awarded a $107,101 project grant from the Environmental Protection Agency Region 8 under the State and Tribal Response Program Grants (CFDA 66.817) program. The Tribe will use the funding to enhance its Brownfields response program and conduct brownfields assessment, planning and cleanup activities on reservation lands through September 2023. Specifically, the Tribe will expand public outreach and education efforts, screen 3 sites for contamination, oversee cleanup of 3 sites, and develop regulatory materials for hazardous materials management. No subawards are associated with this assistance agreement. The goal is to help remediate and reuse contaminated properties, support disadvantaged communities, and establish Tribal response and enforcement capabilities as outlined in the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act Section 128(a).
