The Environmental Protection Agency Region 10 awarded a $305,907 Project Grant to the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation under the State and Tribal Response Program Grants (CFDA 66.817) program. The grant will fund the Tribal Response Program, which will conduct timely surveys and inventories of brownfield sites on tribal lands. The program will provide oversight and enforcement to ensure response actions at these sites protect human health and the environment. It will also offer resources for meaningful public involvement and approval of cleanup plans, as well as verification of complete responses. Deliverables over the 12-month period ending September 30, 2022 include quarterly reports, meeting notes, a site inventory, and site-specific documents. The objective is to help remediate and redevelop brownfield properties in the tribal community.
