The award consists of $1.74 million in obligated federal funds with an additional $8.71 million in contingent funds subject to availability, supporting a six-year performance period through June 30, 2031. VDEQ will deliver comprehensive water quality monitoring and assessment services for Virginia's portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, including the mainstem and tidal tributaries. The primary deliverables include collection and analysis of water quality sampling data, quality control and assurance procedures, evaluation of current environmental conditions and long-term trend analysis, and coordination with the Chesapeake Bay Program Partnership's goal implementation teams and workgroups. VDEQ will subaward funds to support sample collection, station maintenance, data analysis activities, and quality assurance work.
