The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded Waypoint $330,000 on September 30, 2025, under the Basic Center Program (CFDA 93.623).
Waypoint will provide emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling, and health care referrals to runaway and homeless youth under age 18 in New Hampshire. The program serves youth who have left home without parental permission, been forced to leave home, or have no safe alternative living arrangement and may otherwise enter law enforcement or child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice systems. Waypoint can provide up to 21 days of shelter per youth and will work to reunite young people with their families when safe or locate appropriate alternative placements.
The award period runs through September 29, 2028. The Basic Center Program is a project grant structured generally with three 12-month budget periods, subject to annual non-competing continuation awards based on fund availability, satisfactory progress, compliance with award terms and conditions, and determination that continuation is in the best interest of the federal government.
