The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living (ACL) awarded a $1,400,000 Project Grant under the Assistive Technology Act (CFDA 93.464) program to the Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF). This funding will support PATF's efforts to: 1) maintain and grow its diversified assistive technology (AT) loan portfolio in Pennsylvania, 2) expand AT lending programs and reach more communities in need across Kentucky, 3) develop a pilot artificial intelligence (AI) tool called AIDA the AT Navigator to enhance information and assistance services, and 4) provide financial education and coaching to individuals with disabilities in both states. Key products to be delivered include mini-loans of $100 to $7,000 in Pennsylvania and Kentucky, a low-interest loan program of up to $60,000 in Pennsylvania, the new AI-powered AT Navigator tool, updated outreach materials and funding resource guides, and a new edition of PATF's financial education curriculum. The grant period runs from September 30, 2024 to September 29, 2025.
