MTDEQ WILL REDUCE ITS DATA COLLECTION BURDENS BY IMPLEMENTING A PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY COMPLIANCE-BASED E-REPORTING AND INTEGRATING WITH FEDERAL SYSTEMS INCLUDING SDWIS. THE PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY WEB BASED INFRASTRUCTURE IMPLEMENTATION PWSWII PROJECT IMPROVES DATA CONSISTENCY BY TRANSITIONING MTDEQ TO THE USE OF WEB SERVICES FOR PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY DATA COLLECTION AND REPORTING. THE USE OF WEB SERVICES TO PROVIDE UP-TO-DATE PUBLIC WATER DATA ENSURES DATA IS REPORTED CONSISTENTLY AND IS USEFUL TO OTHER REGULATORY JURISDICTIONS AND THE PUBLIC. GOALS INCLUDE EXPANDING E-REPORTING CAPABILITIES, INCREASING DATA ACCESS AND AVAILABILITY, AND PROVIDING UP-TO-DATE DRINKING WATER INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS QUICKER, THEREBY IMPROVING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. AWARD PURPOSE: TO ENHANCE IT AND DATA MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES THAT FACILITATE THE ELECTRONIC COLLECTION, REPORTING, EXCHANGE, SHARING AND INTEGRATION OF THE FULL RANGE OF DATA THAT INFORMS THE BUSINESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. ACTIVITIES:ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED INCLUDE: DEVELOPING OPERATOR CERTIFICATION DATABASE WITH PUBLIC FACING INTERFACE; DEVELOPING A LEAD AND COPPER DATABASE WITH GIS AND PORTAL APPLICATIONS FOR ELECTRONIC REPORTING; DEVELOPING MONITORING SCHEDULE REPORT PROGRAMMING FOR PUBLIC WATER SYSTEMS; AND DEVELOPING ELECTRONIC REPORTING FOR PUBLIC WATER SYSTEMS.SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE: IMPLEMENTATION OF A PUBLIC INTERFACE FOR PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM COMPLIANCE REPORTING; THE CREATION OF AN ELECTRONIC MONITORING SCHEDULE REPORT; DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRONIC REPORTING FOR MONTHLY OPERATION REPORTS FOR PUBLIC WATER SYSTEMS; DEVELOPMENT OF LEAD AND COPPER DATABASE AND GIS APPLICATION FOR ELECTRONIC REPORTING; AND PRODUCTION OF PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY DATA PORTAL FOR SAMPLE DATA INFORMATION.EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE: IMPROVED PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY DATA MANAGEMENT AND DATA SECURITY; A COMMON REPOSITORY FOR REFERENCE VALUES; EXPANDED PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY DATA ACCESS AND AVAILABILITY; INTEGRATION OF STATE'S PUBLIC WATER DATA THROUGH WEB SERVICES; CLEARLY DEFINED REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR REGULATED FACILITIES; AND AVAILABILITY OF WEB SERVICES FOR DATA ANALYTICS AND SHARING.
