Unicef PPD Division received a $1.75 million project grant award from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas program (CFDA 98.001) to address the consequences of violence in Honduras from June 2023 through June 2024. Specifically, Unicef will provide multi-sectoral life-saving and humanitarian services to children and adolescents who are victims or at risk of violence, abuse and exploitation, including gender-based violence. Services will focus on the survival, resilience, physical and emotional recovery of beneficiaries in communities highly exposed to armed violence. Unicef will also strengthen community protection mechanisms to prevent and cope with violence. As a key implementing partner for humanitarian assistance globally, Unicef has a track record of successfully delivering similar critical services to vulnerable groups through prior USAID funding.
