This $6,999,845 project grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) supports relief efforts under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (FAPO) program in response to Typhoon Rai, which impacted the Philippines in December 2022. Catholic Relief Services - United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (CRS-USCCB) will deliver emergency cash assistance, water, sanitation, hygiene and shelter repair services to approximately 10,050 households across northern Mindanao, Southern Leyte, and Surigao del Norte provinces. Through four sub-awards, CRS-USCCB will partner with local organizations Sac Butuan and DSAC Maasin to distribute these critical relief supplies and services to vulnerable communities struggling with food insecurity, limited safe water access, and damaged shelter in the typhoon's aftermath. The grant aims to address both immediate humanitarian needs as well as longer-term development goals of the FAPO program around economic growth and humanitarian assistance.
