The International Rescue Committee, Inc. was awarded a $2.4 million project grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development to provide food, water, sanitation, hygiene and gender-based violence protection services for disaster-affected communities in Zimbabwe from July 2021 through October 2022. The award was made under USAID's Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas program (CFDA 98.001), which supports long-term economic growth and humanitarian assistance internationally. With this funding, the International Rescue Committee will work to address basic needs and protection for vulnerable populations recovering from natural disasters in Zimbabwe through specialized services over the 15-month grant period.
