The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a $55,287,230 Project Grant under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) federal grant program to provide multisectoral assistance for vulnerable populations in Afghanistan affected by conflict, drought, and natural disasters. The award period is from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022.
Through this funding, a consortium led by Save the Children International and including International Medical Corps and Catholic World Wide will deliver integrated response services across 13 Afghan provinces. Specifically, the consortium will provide $246k beneficiaries with protection, gender-based violence prevention and psychosocial support, shelter and non-food items, food security and livelihoods assistance, health and nutrition services, and water, sanitation and hygiene programs. The goal is to deepen resilience among disaster- and conflict-affected Afghan communities.
