This $100,000 Project Grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide multipurpose cash assistance (MPCA) to approximately 595 individuals in Ecuador affected by an earthquake. Funded through USAID's Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas program (CFDA #98.001), which supports global health, democracy, and humanitarian efforts, the award will be implemented over three months from March 22, 2023 to June 21, 2023 by HIAS, Inc. in partnership with Caritas. HIAS will focus their MPCA interventions on individuals displaced to Pasaje Canton, while Caritas coordinates similar assistance for those relocated to Machala Canton. The fixed amount subawards aim to provide temporary financial relief for basic needs as earthquake victims recover.
