The US Agency for International Development Philippines awarded a $100,000 Project Grant to the International Federation Of Red Cross And Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to provide disaster relief assistance in response to typhoon-affected populations in the Republic of Palau. The grant had a performance period from April 22, 2021 to July 31, 2021 under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) federal grant program. This program aims to support long-term economic growth and advance US foreign policy objectives through support for economic development, agriculture, health, and humanitarian activities overseas. The IFRC used the funding to deliver direct humanitarian aid and recovery services for communities in Palau impacted by typhoons, consistent with the program's goal of providing disaster relief assistance abroad.
