The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded the South Dakota Department of Public Safety $665,425 under the Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) Program (CFDA 97.046) on January 25, 2021 for completion by September 30, 2021. The funding will support the repair or replacement of disaster damaged facilities through the South Dakota Wildland Fire Division.
The FMAG Program provides supplemental assistance to state, tribal and local governments for wildfire management and mitigation. The award will allow the South Dakota Wildland Fire Division to repair or rebuild critical infrastructure damaged by wildfires, helping the state improve its wildfire response capabilities. The work will be completed in Rapid City, South Dakota by September 2021 using the $665,425 in federal funding.
