The City of Atchison, Kansas was awarded a $1.3 million Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration Central Region. The grant is part of the Airport Improvement Program, COVID-19 Airports Programs, and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Programs (CFDA 20.106) to fund design activities for the second phase of a project to shift Runway 16/34 south 1,200 feet to meet Federal Aviation Administration airfield design standards at the Atchison Municipal Airport.
