This Project Grant award, with a total funding amount of $460,000, was provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through the Mathematical and Physical Sciences (CFDA 47.049) federal grant program. The objective is to establish a Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site at the University of Kansas, exposing 10 undergraduate participants per summer to 10 weeks of research in astronomy, astroparticle physics, high energy theory, and condensed matter theory and experiment. The award will fund mentoring, computing skills training, professional development workshops, and opportunities for students to present their research at scientific conferences. This REU site aims to broaden the exposure and visibility of participating students in the fields of physics and astronomy. The award period runs from March 2025 through February 2028, and there are no planned sub-awards under this grant.
