The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded a $984,495 Project Grant under the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (CFDA 47.075) program to the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago. The funding will be used to expand and leverage NORC's existing large probability panel of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) populations to establish a major benchmarking survey of AANHPI adults. This survey will address a critical data gap, as AANHPI communities have been substantially underrepresented in U.S. research. The survey will collect data on key metrics related to culture, health, economics, and other topics, enabling disaggregation across AANHPI subgroups. The 16-stratum sample design will oversample smaller subgroups to ensure parity of representation. The project will deliver a public use file containing at least 2,000 completed interviews, which will provide an affordable, scientifically valid, and accessible resource for researchers to conduct studies on the rapidly growing AANHPI population.
