The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded a $331,572 Project Grant under the STEM Education (CFDA 47.076) program to the Regents of the University of Colorado, doing business as the University of Colorado Office of Contracts and Grants Division. The grant funds a 5-year collaborative research project focused on developing and testing the Equity Departmental Action Team (EDAT) model for driving racial equity-focused change within STEM departments at a minority-serving institution. The project aims to integrate existing change models to create a new framework that shifts departmental cultures to better support individuals with historically marginalized racial and ethnic identities. Research activities will explore EDAT member experiences, strategies deployed, and the integration of racial equity into departmental practices. The findings will be disseminated through partnerships with national higher education associations to promote the EDAT model for advancing racial equity in STEM education.
