The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded a $246,767 Project Grant to North Carolina State University (NC State) under the Engineering program (CFDA 47.041). This funding supports the "Collaborative Research: REM Mentoring Catalyst 3.0" project, which aims to develop and implement strategies for improving STEM mentoring within the NSF's Research Experience in Mentoring (REM) programs. The key objectives are to: 1) Provide REM mentor training; 2) Build and maintain an REM community of practice; 3) Develop REM mini-conferences at discipline-specific meetings; and 4) Develop post-programmatic mentoring resources. Through these efforts, the project intends to catalyze programmatic changes that positively impact REM mentors and student/teacher mentees by establishing strong mentorship practices, student support, and research success. The grant period runs from February 15, 2024 to January 31, 2026.
