THE PHOENIX INDIAN CENTER PROPOSES TO HAVE 10 AMERICORPS SENIORS VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL PROVIDE MENTORSHIP AND CULTURAL EDUCATION TO LOCAL URBAN AMERICAN INDIAN YOUTH IN THE GREATER PHOENIX METROPOLITAN AREA. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS PROMOTING THE PRESERVATION AND TEACHING OF NATIVE AND INDIGENOUS CULTURAL PRACTICES THROUGH MENTORSHIP PROGRAMMING.
