The Oregon Department of Forestry received a $374,840 Project Grant award from the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region under the State & Private Forestry Cooperative Fire Assistance federal grant program (CFDA 10.698). The grant will support the department's delivery of fire prevention, control, and prescribed burning services on non-federal forest and other rural lands in Oregon through September 2025. As the direct recipient of the funding, the department will work to assist in controlling rural fires and developing new approaches to fire management on non-federally owned properties across the state. The State of Oregon Division of the Governor serves as the department's parent organization overseeing use and administration of the federal funding.
