The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation will receive $325,033.90 through a two-year Project Grant award from the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service. The grant period runs from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2024.
Funds will support the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), which provides USDA Foods to low-income households living on Indian reservations or in approved areas near reservations. Administered by Tribal governments or Indian Tribal Organizations, FDPIR offers an alternate to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for these communities. This award will allow the Colville Tribes to continue delivering nutritious food packages and meals to reservation residents through FDPIR in accordance with the program's objective of improving access to healthy food.
