The award funds ResDataNexus, an open-source data infrastructure platform designed to address research management and institutional competitiveness challenges at Emerging Research Institutions (ERIs). The project...
- This Project Grant awarded by the National Science Foundation's Engineering program (CFDA 47.041) provides $866,879 to Arizona State University, Kennesaw State University, and Villanova University to transform engineering education by deeply integrating sustainability concepts into the curricula across the three universities. The transformative two-year initiative aims to fundamentally reshape how future engineers are trained, emphasizing the crucial role of sustainability in engineering...
- This $572,890 federal Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) aims to improve the preparation of undergraduate teacher candidates in effectively teaching engineering design and human-centered design. The "CHANGEMAKER K-12" project combines and scaffolds high-quality learning experiences for teacher candidates in design awareness, engineering design, and human-centered design, along with intensive clinical experiences...
- This three-year $177,272 Project Grant awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering program (CFDA 47.041) will establish an REU site titled "STEM Research for Social Change" at a collaborative partnership among the University of Dayton, Central State University, and St. Mary's University. The purpose is to support interdisciplinary STEM research addressing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on engaging underrepresented minority and...
- This Project Grant award of $600,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering program (CFDA 47.041) will support a three-year Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) Site focused on sustainable polymer engineering research at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). The RET Site will immerse 10 local high school and community college teachers per year in state-of-the-art polymer research at USM. Teachers will collaborate with faculty on fundamental materials research...
- This $148,507 National Science Foundation project grant funds research at The University of Texas at San Antonio to develop teacher capacity and middle school student interest in engineering. The grant supports a mixed-methods study exploring how integrating students' "funds of knowledge" from their lived experiences into engineering design curriculum can facilitate interest among Latinx students. The awardee will work with eight math and science teachers and one engineering teacher...
- Federal Grant Award Summary The National Science Foundation's Division of Engineering Education and Centers awarded a Project Grant of $121,669 to the University of Colorado, effective October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2028. This collaborative research initiative, funded under the Engineering program (CFDA 47.041), focuses on transforming engineering education to cultivate a holistic enviro-socio-technical mindset among students. The project addresses the critical gap between traditional...
The University of San Diego received a three-year, $599,625 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation under the Engineering (47.041) federal grant program. The grant funds the RET SITE: CLIMATE CHANGEMAKERS IN WASTE UPCYCLING, WATER JUSTICE AND SUSTAINABLE ENERGY program hosted by the University. Through this program, eight to ten middle school science teachers and pre-service teachers per year will engage in a model of "changemaking engineering" to address local climate change challenges involving waste, water or energy. Program participants will receive mentorship and conduct applied research and development on a community-centered issue, as well as pedagogical action research and reflective practice training to improve their engineering education approaches. They will then develop hands-on, Next Generation Science Standards aligned engineering learning experiences for their own students. The goal of the program is to advance an engineering education paradigm that prepares graduates to apply technical skills and social awareness to local and global solutions.
