This Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure, under the Computer and Information Science and Engineering federal grant program (CFDA 47.070), provides $136,167 to support the continued development of the open-source Einstein Toolkit ecosystem. The awardee, consisting of a collaboration between the University of Idaho and four other institutions, will deliver three new software capabilities for the Toolkit over a two-year period ending in August 2024. Specifically, the team will integrate new mesh refinement, code generation, and physics library components to enhance the scalability, usability and modeling capabilities of the Einstein Toolkit platform. Broader impacts such as education and community engagement activities are also part of the award. The Einstein Toolkit is an NSF-supported computational infrastructure for multi-messenger astrophysics and gravitational wave research. This award advances the Foundation's mission to promote discovery and innovation through strategic investments in cyberinfrastructure.
