This Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's Division of Electrical, Communications and Cyber Systems, under the Engineering program (CFDA 47.041), provides $134,855 to Princeton University for research on electrically pumped transient charge-carrier dynamics of metal halide perovskite light-emitting diodes. The University will study the transient charge-carrier dynamics of metal halide perovskite LEDs under ultrashort electrical excitation to advance understanding of their intrinsic speed limitations and differences between optical and electrical pumping processes. Researchers will investigate how perovskite compositions influence transient carrier dynamics under electrical pumping to identify factors governing device response and enable faster perovskite LEDs with potential applications in integrated on-chip optical communications. Outcomes will strengthen U.S. technological leadership and prepare future STEM graduates through related educational activities.
