This Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation Division of Undergraduate Education provides $157,741 to Bridgevalley Community & Technical College to develop a collaborative cybersecurity analysis certification program with two other West Virginia educational institutions. The goal is to build an educational and career pipeline for critically needed cyber specialists and grow a capable, trained cybersecurity workforce within West Virginia and nationally. Specifically, the three partner institutions—Bridgevalley Community & Technical College, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, and the University of Charleston—will develop and launch a two-semester, four-course Security Analysis Certificate program available virtually and in-person. This program will target veterans, military-connected learners, and high school students in rural, economically depressed southern West Virginia counties. The funding falls under the NSF's STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076), which supports STEM education development to drive the nation's economy. Evaluation will assess the program's effectiveness through an independent, outcomes-based model.
