This $185,133 three-year AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Project Grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service will support volunteer engagement through the South Georgia Partnership to End Homelessness, Inc. Approximately 120 volunteers age 55 and older will provide services focused on health, education, and ending homelessness in 18 southeast Georgia counties. Volunteers will assist food pantries and soup kitchens, deliver home meals, tutor elementary students, and provide other classroom support. The grant also aims to increase social support, access to healthcare, and food security for vulnerable individuals, the elderly, and those with disabilities in the target region. As the sub-awardee, South Georgia Partnership to End Homelessness, Inc. will implement the volunteer program and coordinate placement of volunteers with local nonprofit and public organizations.
