The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service awarded a $1,335,772 project grant to the Oregon Department of Forestry under the Cooperative Forestry Assistance federal grant program (CFDA 10.664). The funding will support voluntary fire assistance in Oregon through September 2024. Specifically, the grant will assist with advancing forest resource management and conservation, developing genetically improved tree seeds and seedlings, and producing and distributing tree seeds and seedlings. The award also furthers the program's goals of promoting active forest management and conservation practices to improve forest health and reduce wildfire risks.
