The Illinois Department of Public Health was awarded a $13,950,081 Project Grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service Office of Grants Management under the AmeriCorps State and National 94.006 federal grant program. The grant period runs from July 15, 2021 to June 8, 2022.
Through this funding, the Illinois Department of Public Health will recruit, train, and manage AmeriCorps members who will address unmet needs in Illinois communities by serving through nonprofit organizations. As described in the CFDA, the AmeriCorps State and National program supports efforts to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. This grant will allow the Illinois Office of the Governor to leverage AmeriCorps national service programs to better serve the people of Illinois.
