The University of California, Davis was awarded a $500,000 project grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings under the STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076). The grant will support the ROBOT-MEDIATED LEARNING project to explore using school-deployed collaborative robots for homebound children between April 2021 and July 2023. The STEM Education program aims to ensure the vitality of the nation's science, technology, engineering and mathematics education. This project aligns with those goals by investigating how collaborative robots can deliver STEM learning opportunities to children unable to attend school, advancing educational equity and access to STEM. The University of California, Davis will deliver the robotic technology and curriculum under this federal funding.
