The National Science Foundation awarded a $1.5 million Project Grant to the Kentucky Community & Technical College System to support the "SCIENCE TO SUCCESS: SUPPORTING STEM ACHIEVEMENT IN THE BLUEGRASS" program. The grant is part of NSF's STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076), which aims to ensure the vitality of the nation's science, technology, engineering and mathematics education enterprise.
Under this award, KCTCS will deliver a program from December 2021 through November 2027 focused on supporting STEM achievement for students in the Lexington, KY area. The $1.5M in funding will allow KCTCS to provide services and resources that strengthen STEM education pathways and help students successfully pursue STEM-related careers. As the awardee, KCTCS will oversee program implementation and coordinate with local stakeholders to achieve the goals of increasing access to and participation in high-quality STEM learning opportunities for students in the Bluegrass region.
