Bucknell University was awarded a $175,548 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences. The grant falls under the Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050), which supports basic research to strengthen understanding of the integrated Earth system.
Through this three-year award beginning September 2021, Bucknell University will conduct collaborative research to examine the role of interactions between organic components on aerosol hygroscopicity. The research aims to advance knowledge of how organic material in atmospheric particles influences their ability to absorb water vapor from the air. Insights gained from this study may improve understanding and modeling of aerosol impacts on climate and air quality.
