The National Science Foundation Division of Ocean Sciences awarded a $347,930 Project Grant to the Georgia TECH Research Corporation, doing business as the Office Of Sponsored Programs, to support the project "MAPPING DISSOLVED OXYGEN USING OBSERVATIONS AND MACHINE LEARNING" from August 15, 2021 through July 31, 2024.
The project aims to strengthen understanding of the integrated Earth system through the use of machine learning techniques to map dissolved oxygen levels based on observational data, advancing basic research goals under the NSF's Geosciences program (CFDA 47.050). The Geosciences program supports fundamental knowledge expansion and comprehension of Earth system processes, consistent with the awarded project's focus on enhancing knowledge of ocean conditions.
