The Pennsylvania State University received a three-year, $259,899 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Civil, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Innovation under the Engineering (47.041) federal grant program. The grant will fund collaborative research to develop multi-objective optimization methods for designing resilient structural systems. Specifically, the research aims to converge design methodology approaches to optimize structural spines for withstanding loads in a variety of hazard scenarios. The grant period runs from September 2021 through August 2024 and will support research activities conducted at Penn State University's main campus in University Park, Pennsylvania.
