Michigan State University was awarded a $199,907 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Mathematical Sciences on September 1, 2021 to complete the project by August 31, 2024.
The grant funds the "Mathematical and Statistical Modeling and Methodology for Topics in Diffusion Tensor Imaging" project under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences federal grant program (CFDA #47.049). The project aims to advance understanding of major scientific problems through promoting progress in mathematical and physical sciences. Specifically, it supports development of mathematical and statistical models and methodologies for analyzing diffusion tensor imaging data to enhance understanding of diffusion processes. Key products will include new modeling and analysis techniques to extract meaningful information from medical imaging scans, advancing scientific knowledge in service of the public.
