The University of Colorado received a three-year $120,000 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Physics under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049) to support theoretical studies of ultrafast electron dynamics in molecules interacting with intense laser pulses. The grant will fund research from September 2021 through August 2024 exploring major problems in understanding the behavior of electrons at extremely fast timescales when molecules are exposed to powerful laser beams. Insights gained from this work will enhance scientific knowledge of electron interactions critical to many areas of physics. The Regents of the University of Colorado will oversee delivery of the research products and services for the agency through the university's Office of Contracts and Grants.
