Carnegie Mellon University was awarded a three-year, $448,235 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Chemistry under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049).
The grant will support research to design, synthesize and study the supramolecular assembly of novel furan-based macrocycles to better understand intra- and intermolecular conjugation effects. By gaining insights into macrocycle conjugation, the grantee aims to advance the development of new materials with tunable optical and electronic properties. The work will be performed at Carnegie Mellon University from July 2021 through June 2024.
