Auburn University was awarded a $274,602 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Astronomical Sciences on September 1, 2021 to complete by August 31, 2024. The grant supports collaborative research taking a joint theoretical and experimental approach to low-temperature dielectronic recombination data for photoionized astrophysical environments. This work will provide fundamental atomic physics parameters needed to interpret astrophysical observations and advance understanding of cosmic phenomena under the Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049). The program aims to promote progress in these scientific fields and strengthen the nation's scientific enterprise through increasing knowledge and enhancing comprehension of major problems facing the nation.
